Engineering Global Tracks

While engineering students are encouraged to explore all the university’s Arizona Abroad offerings, the following Global Track programs are tailored specifically for you. These locations host courses that satisfy requirements for an engineering major or minor.

Athens
Costa Rica
Lima
Madrid
UA Sydney

Summer Research Abroad

Study abroad summer programs are an incredible opportunity due to their extensive range of research options and exceptionally low cost. Students from the College of Engineering and the Wyant College of Optical Sciences will find internship placement alongside world-class researchers in local labs – and it’s all for degree credit.

Exchange Programs

Another option for international education is Study Abroad Exchange. As opposed to the Arizona Abroad program, students taking part in a study exchange follow another university’s curriculum while there.

For Wildcat Engineers, the National University of Singapore is an excellent choice. One of the preeminent universities of Asia, they are ranked #8 globally in engineering [Times Higher Education World University Rankings]. Space is limited in this program, so be sure to apply early.

Engineering Honors

The W.A. Franke Honors College also offers study abroad opportunities, giving honors students access to exclusive learning modules. Completing a semester-long program will earn honors credit, and the number of units required for graduation will be reduced by six.

More information is available on the Franke Honors College study abroad page.

Where to Begin

  • Start planning your journey with the UA Study Abroad checklist.

  • Discuss those plans with an academic advisor a year ahead of your intended departure. They can guide you in selecting the appropriate courses to stay on track for graduation.

Financial Information

Study abroad students pay the same tuition as UA main campus attendance, and all financial aid applies to the program. There are also scholarships available specifically for students in the study abroad program. It’s recommended that students plan ahead financially and look for support from resources including loans, grants, scholarships, employers and external organizations.

Learn more about financial considerations and scholarship eligibility at the Study Abroad financial information page.
