- National Merit Scholarships
We are proud to offer scholarships to National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists/Finalists, Hispanic Scholars, and National Achievement Semifinalists and Finalists who choose to enroll as engineering students in the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona.
Scholarships Available
These scholarships are renewable for 3 additional years.
National Merit Semifinalist ... $500 per year
National Merit Finalist ... $1,000 per year
National Achievement Semifinalst / Finalist ... $1,000 per year Hispanic Scholar ... $1,000 per year
All of these scholarships are renewable at the above-stated amount for 3 additional years if a 3.0 GPA is maintained and academic progress is made in the College of Engineering.
These awards, in combination with other scholarships provided to you by the University of Arizona, significantly reduce the total cost of attendance at UA. Because we know that quality and value, not just cost, are major factors in your college decision-making, we also pledge to you a faculty mentor and summer internship.
Terms and Conditions
* complete the Engineering Scholarship Application by April 1, 2008
* apply and be admitted to The University of Arizona and The College of Engineering by April 1, 2008
* be in The College of Engineering and demonstrate academic progress in an engineering major
* maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher (This is checked at the end of each semester. If GPA drops below, student has one semester to regain to 3.0 cumm. GPA. Does not include Summer Session.)
* start as a freshman in The College of Engineering, no scholarships will be awarded for those who transfer in at a later date.
* designate Engineering as the primary college, if student should have more than one major
* duration of scholarship: total of four years

Thomas R Brown Distinguished Scholarship
This scholarship is made possible by the generosity of the Thomas R. Brown Family, co-founder of Burr-Brown. Tom Brown led Burr-Brown to worldwide prominence in the development, manufacturing and marketing of data conversion and mixed signal integrated circuits. Texas Instruments acquired Burr-Brown in 2000 for an amount that still holds the record for an Arizona-grown entrepreneurial endeavor.
Students who receive the Brown Scholarship receive $5,000 per year ($1,000 National Merit + $4,000 Brown Scholarship) and the scholarship can be renewed for three additional years.

Terms and Conditions
To receive and be considered for renewal, student must do the following:
* Apply and be admitted to The University of Arizona and The College of Engineering by April 1, 2008
* Duration of scholarship: total of four years
* Student must be in The College of Engineering and demonstrate academic progress in an engineering major
* Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
* If student should fall below this GPA, student will be renewed at $1,000 as long as he/she maintains a 3.0 GPA or higher. (please refer to the National Scholar Terms & Conditions on further GPA requirements)
