Intro to MEP
The primary goal/objective of MEP is to provide a solid academic and social support infrastructure to ensure the students' success until they graduate with the highest levels of academic excellence. MEP also helps students develop personally and professionally so they are better-prepared when they enter the professional workforce. To maintain the focus of being degree specific and career oriented, there is a strong effort to develop a supportive community of students, staff, and faculty.
The philosophy of MEP approach is to be aggressive in seeking out students who need assistance in their academic and school related personal lives.
Services provided include
· Pre-college summer workshops
· Undergraduate & graduate recruitment
· Academic Advising
· Study groups/Tutoring

To encourage student participation in campus life, MEP has partnerships with student cultural centers and pre-professional clubs. MEP also acts as a liason with various departments such as admissions, career services, and the learning center. In addition, MEP has contacts with the University offices that can assist students with the administrative challenges of obtaining their education.
The Multicultural Engineering Program creates an environment that allows students to meet the challenges and reduce the mystique of pursuing a university education.
Location
The Multicultural Engineering Program is located in the Historic Engineering Building in room 212 and 214. The office provides the students with many valuable resources while they're on campus. MEP offers 6 computers for word processing or internet access, a file of previous years' tests to many engineering courses, a quiet place to study between classes, and much more.
