- Who are they and what do they do?
Engineering Ambassadors are students who volunteer their time to educate middle and high school students on the diversity of engineering and enhance student recruitment to the College of Engineering (CoE). They represent all majors in the College of Engineering and share information about the University and college experience through a student’s perspective.

Application process: Applications are accepted during the month of January. There is a two-phase interview process. The first is a group interview. Upon successful completion, the candidate is invited for a second individual interview after which Ambassador selections are made.

Deadline and Requirements: Application AND a letter of recommendation must be completed and submitted to Engineering Building, Room 200 by 5:00 pm, January 31, 2008 for participation the following school year (2008-2009).
* Must have (and maintain) at least a 2.75 GPA
* Applicant must have completed/or be enrolled in Engr. 102, be in at least 2nd semester at UA, and be in the College of Engineering.
* If the applicant is a graduate student, he/she must have studied undergrad program @ UA.
* Student must commit to two full academic years (fall & spring)
* Letter of recommendation to be submitted from a faculty member, advisor, employer or community leader.
* Letter of recommendation may be submitted by email directly from the recommender to Susie Bowers (no forwards accepted).
Training: Two and a half-day (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) training retreat held August 21, 22, 23, 2008. Mandatory for new ambassadors.
The retreat is held the week prior to the start of school.
Responsibilities: Engineering Ambassadors provide information through visits (on and off campus) to middle schools, high schools, career fairs and other events. They give tours of CoE to different groups and individuals that visit campus, serve on student panels and host prospective students on campus visits.
Time Commitment: The normal time commitment is 15-20 hours per semester, not including meetings
Meeting Schedule: September and October, every Wednesday for one hour, 5 pm.
November - we'll meet at 5 pm on 2 separate Wednesdays, for one hour each.
In the Spring Semester we'll meet twice a month, on Wednesdays at 5pm.
