- Notes on our site's design . . .
Our new website went live on March 5, 2008. The redesign process began over a year ago, with courses in CSS and careful considerations regarding the new site's architecture.
I have five main goals for the site's redesign:
1. To echo the University's site architecture so that our user's experience is similar. This process greatly simplified the site by consolidating all pages into three main areas: Students, Faculty & Staff, and Visitors.
2. To adhere to the University's Web Standards, which allows us to create strong marketing association between the College and University.
3. To create more, and richer media for our increasingly media-savvy users.
4. To provide faculty, staff, and students with web templates that are easy to implement and update. We hope to have this portion of our plan implemented by the Fall `08 semester.
There are many departments, clubs, and courses that have websites and other files on the old webpage (called 'fugazi'). Because fugazi will be decomissioned on March 31, 2008, those sites will need to be moved asap. Contact Computer Services or Meg Askey for help and guidance through this process.
In the coming months, I will expand this page to include helpful hints to navigating and using our web page, so please check back soon for updates.
